Julia Spittel is a local glass and mixed media artist from Aurora, Ontario who is drawn to colour and inspired by nature.
Julia’s creative evolution through a variety of artforms over her 37 year career has allowed her to cross pollinate skills and techniques from landscape photography, pottery and painting to develop unique ways of glassmaking which make her work immediately recognizable.
Fifteen years after being introduced to warm glass, Julia is now a master of the medium and has come full circle as she now designs her landscapes in glass and fires them in her potter’s kiln!
Come visit Julia to enjoy her one of a kind “Landscape Glass” pendants designed to resemble abstract scenes of land, sea and sky.
“I am so looking forward to participating in this year’s Tour and seeing you in September! I always say my glass pieces are never finished until they find their human! I just love the process of finding that perfect piece that literally lights you up! So, bring something you’d like to match and let’s have some fun!
