Shannie van Buren is a multidisciplinary artist known for her joyful, imaginative works that blend storytelling, vibrant colour, and cultural tradition.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Jerusalem and raised in Canada, Shannie's work is deeply influenced by her Israeli heritage, which is reflected in the food, art, and décor of her upbringing.
Growing up surrounded by beautiful imported Israeli jewellery in her parents’ store, she developed a love for Judaica and cultural art.
Her art spans various mediums, including traditional acrylics, watercolours, and digital art, all infused with a sense of play and wonder inspired by life and nature.
Shannie creates vibrant, whimsical scenes that often border on the fantastical, drawing from her love of humour, lightness, and fantasy.
Whether through limited edition giclee prints, children’s illustrations filled with magic and adventure, or traditional Jewish home blessings and Ketubah art, Shannie aims to leave her whole heart on the canvas.
