Nick Tinkl
The advent of the digital age ended Nicholas Tinkl's career as a photographic technician and entirely changed his approach to photography. He no longer required a darkroom and quickly adopted computer and digital output to produce his eye-catching work.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I have been taking photographs for almost 40 years. I have mostly taught myself the craft having only taken a few high school courses and a part year at a community college.
After college, I decided to start working in the photography industry, working in a photography store, as a photographer's assistant in various studios and finally, professional photography labs.
The advent of the digital age ended my technician career; I moved to the country and started a family. It also changed my approach to photography. I no longer have a darkroom and shoot a mix of film and digital, depending on the mood and the feeling that I want to convey. I have adopted computer and digital output to produce my work.
My approach to photography has always been one of journal of my life rather than a pursuit of fine art.
I have a small business photographing work for local artists, as well as pursuing my own work.
