ABOUT THE ARTIST
Berna Kilic is a glass artist specializing in lampworked beads, jewellery, and small sculptural figurines. She learned the art of glass beadmaking through workshops with various glass artists and years of dedicated self-practice.
Each piece is individually created in her studio in Georgetown, Ontario using the ancient technique of lampworking. In this process, clear and coloured glass rods are melted in the flame of a gas-fuelled torch and shaped through a combination of breath, tools, and hand movements. Once formed, the glass is placed in a kiln and slowly annealed at 950°F to strengthen the glass and ensure durability.

Berna’s work reflects her love of nature and the small, beautiful details found in everyday life. Every bead and sculpture is made one at a time, making each piece unique.
Her work can be found at her studio and showroom at the Williams Mill Creative Arts Studios in Glen Williams, Ontario, as well as online through her website and Etsy shop. Her work is also featured at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto and ArtSpace 106 Gallery in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Berna is also a proud member of the Stratford Art in the Park Association, where she presents her work each summer at the Stratford Art in the Park festival.
