Spotlighting our studios to the west of Uxbridge, this scenic route winds from the countryside just outside Stouffville through Goodwood and north before finishing in downtown Uxbridge. Drive the back roads, explore the hidden studios of talented artists, make a delicious stop at Annina’s in the heart of Schitt’s Creek filming country, and, if the timing is right, stop for a bite to eat and local cider to finish the day.
It’s part art adventure, part country drive and a very good excuse to spend a September day exploring. Follow the route on Uxbridge Studio Tour weekend, and you’ll meet incredible artists where they create, discover some beautiful corners of the countryside, eat well and end up in Uxbridge with plenty more to explore.
About an hour northeast of Toronto, the Uxbridge Studio Tour takes place September 19 & 20, 2026, with studios open Saturday 10am - 6pm and Sunday 10am - 5pm. Save this itinerary. STUDIO 1 | COLIN WHITEBREAD
Your country art adventure begins just outside Stouffville at the colourful indoor and outdoor studio of Colin Whitebread, whose energetic acrylic and mixed-media paintings are filled with colour and texture.
He’s joined by Susan Whitebread, creating whimsical mixed-media work from fabric, paper, wood and reclaimed materials; Gordon Reidt, carving one-of-a-kind stone sculptures; and Kirsty Naray, with colourful handcrafted glass beads, jewellery and fibre work.
Take a good look around; even the Whitebread home and garden are part of the creative experience, then hit the country roads for Studio 3.
STUDIO 3 | HANNEKE KOONSTRA
Surrounded by protected forest, Hanneke Koonstra’s rural studio is a beautiful setting for her colourful paintings inspired by nature, travel and the landscape around her.
Joining her are Kade Bolger, creating turned and hand-carved wood pieces; Catharina Goldnau, with richly textured ceramics inspired by nature; and Berna Kilic, using the ancient art of lampworking to create colourful glass beads, jewellery and small sculptures.
After two studios packed with art, it’s time for lunch with a little Canadian TV history on the side.
Take a Break | Annina’s Bakeshop & Café + A Little Schitt’s Creek
Head into Goodwood for lunch, coffee or something sweet at Annina’s Bakeshop & Café.
If the village looks familiar, there’s a reason. Goodwood's historic 4 corners played a key role in many of Schitt’s Creek's most memorable scenes. They've changed a bit (or maybe a lot) since the show was recorded, but for a little fun, try to spot Rose Apothecary, Bob’s Garage and The Café Tropical.
Grab a bite, snap a few photos and then head just a smidge down the road for more art.
STUDIO 5 | MANBERDO
Welcome to the wonderfully creative world of manberdo, where designer and maker Josh Sims creates functional and artistic pieces from an ever-changing mix of materials, combining imagination with meticulous craftsmanship.
He’s joined by Eliot Tinkl, a prolific mixed-media artist whose colourful, expressive work is often influenced by music.
From Goodwood, head north and enjoy the country drive to your next studio.
STUDIO 2 | RASHMI BAIRD
At this peaceful rural studio, Rashmi Baird creates etchings and found-object sculptures exploring memory, myth, ritual and transformation.
She’s joined by LeeAnna Deringer, whose plein-air landscape paintings capture the atmosphere and beauty of the natural world.
Enjoy two very different artistic perspectives in one beautiful country setting, then it’s back on the road for your final studio.
STUDIO 17 | CYNTHIA CUPPLES
Continue north to Sandford and the rustic farmhouse pottery studio of Cynthia Cupples.
Cynthia creates beautiful functional ceramics, including wheel-thrown and hand-built dinnerware, along with sculptural and accent pieces — art designed to become part of everyday life.
It’s a lovely final studio stop, but your country adventure doesn’t necessarily have to end here.
