Lisa Allen
Through the diverse mediums of paint, embroidery and pyrography, Lisa Allen aims to connect viewers to her memories and experiences in a meaningful way.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
“I can lose myself in the richness of garden flowers and foliage, finding endless inspiration in the beauty and wonder of the natural world.”
Working from her home in Goodwood, Lisa Allen creates paintings and embroideries that express her deep connection to colour, form, and nature. Her work evokes memory and emotion, drawing on her fascination with the natural world. Using coloured threads as if they were paint, Lisa captures light, movement, and intricate detail in her embroidered pieces.
This year, her focus has been on botanical studies of the flowers and plants, from gardens she visits regularly. Her paintings explore the subtle textures and tonal variations found in flowers, revealing their complexity and grace.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, working with both adults and children, Lisa has cultivated a profound understanding of the elements of art. Her work celebrates line, pattern, colour, shape, and texture, continually exploring new ways to combine her chosen media with fresh creativity and innovation.
Lisa Allen’s art offers both a visual and meditative experience, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and deepen their connection with the natural world.
