Judith Tinkl

Pattern, colour, structure and the way we see motivates Judith Tinkl's work which encompasses traditional quilts and various textile based constructions.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Judith Tinkl has had a very varied career since graduating from OCA in 1964.

She worked in administration, teaching, mounting exhibitions, volunteering and being president of the Ontario Crafts Council and Surfacing, a textile organization.

She worked on the Contemporary Gallery Committee in the early days of the Textile Museum and organized exhibitions and conferences for Surfacing.

Judith raised two sons, exhibited work, taught at OCA, OCAD and OCADU (all the same place, of course) and was Assistant Dean there.

Since retirement, she has shown her work in many exhibitions, and she continues to explore as many new directions as possible in her art.
