The work of artist Judy Bear is a visual quest in paint, to explore the textures of nature, the colour of sound and the layers of time.

Uxbridge Studio Tour
Our surroundings are constantly changing both within and outside of our control. A recent road trip through Canada to Vancouver reinforced my love of colour, texture and layers. It is healthy to step out of our environment, to encounter another view, to question.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Judy Bear's current artwork is a fundamental quest to share with you, her perceptions of a place and time.
After graduating from Queen’s University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program, Judy moved to Uxbridge and participated in the early formation of the Uxbridge Celebration of the Arts.
Inspired by the arrival of her children, Judy's images began to include portraiture. "I share my love of visual expression through creating and teaching children’s art classes and camps in my home studio, a decade of courses at Durham College, a former board member and art curator, and actively participate in a variety of group and one-person art shows".
Judy obtained her Bachelor of Education in 2007 and is currently employed full-time as a secondary teacher with specialists in Visual Art, Religion, Mathematics and Special Education.
Judy's current work reflects on her environment. But the criteria remain unchanged. Peace, space, texture, and the unknown surprise. The unknown sometimes shows itself in the process and it is this gift of revelation that fuels my quest.
