Lynne McIlvride

Contemporary visionary artist Lynne McIlvride creates two and three-dimensional painted low relief basswood sculptures with inlaid beadwork: a highly saturated experience. Prepare to be blown away.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Within the past 35 years, Lynne’s work has been shown across Canada, though she is most interested in her home and studio becoming art destinations in themselves.

Toronto galleries have included David Kaye Gallery, Prime Gallery, Propellor Gallery and others.

Lynne is a mixed media artist: she works with a wide variety of materials in countless combinations.

Past series include densely packed sardine can boxes, huge panoramic watercolour mountainscapes, vibrant reduction linoleum prints, paper tornados in kitchen cupboards.

Lynne McIlvride, Multi Media Artist

In the last few years, Lynne has concentrated on hand-carved basswood relief sculptures and lyrical plywood cut-outs, which then become the base for highly saturated paint, gold leaf, and beadwork.

Visitors to Lynne's studio and home step into an immersive artistic environment where the boundaries between living space and creative sanctuary dissolve.

Studio 18

Amidst the rural landscape that nourishes her vision, guests can experience how Lynne's dimensional works transform and activate the spaces they inhabit, creating an atmosphere of wonder and contemplative discovery. Whether you wish to simply absorb the transformative beauty of her creations or purchase a special piece for your own space, Lynne's studio never disappoints.
