About The Tour
The Uxbridge Studio Tour is a free, self-guided and juried art tour held each September in Uxbridge, Ontario, about an hour northeast of Toronto. For one weekend, more than 50 artists welcome visitors into studios across historic downtown Uxbridge and the surrounding countryside to discover original art, meet the artists and experience the places where their work is created.
What is the Uxbridge Studio Tour?
The Uxbridge Studio Tour is a juried art studio tour featuring a distinguished lineup of established and emerging artists. Studio artists are selected by an artist jury based on criteria including creativity, skill, professional achievement and the studio experience they can offer visitors.
In 2026, the Tour celebrates its 41st year, with more than 50 artists sharing their work at 21 studio locations across Uxbridge and the surrounding countryside. Studio artists also welcome talented guest artists, bringing an even greater variety of original Canadian art to each location.
What Makes the Uxbridge Studio Tour Different?
This is not a gallery tour! The Uxbridge Studio Tour takes you behind the scenes and into the places where art is actually created. Meet artists in studios, homes, galleries and remarkable creative spaces that aren't normally open to the public.
Travelling between studios is part of the experience. Artists’ studios are scattered throughout historic downtown Uxbridge, nestled in nearby communities and tucked along country roads surrounded by forests and farmland—turning a day of discovering art into a beautiful September day trip in the country.
Make a day of it with one of our curated routes, combining artist studios with great food, scenic drives and some of the best stops around Uxbridge.
What Kind of Art Will You See?
Our full 2026 lineup includes sculptors, painters, ceramic artists, gold and silversmiths, mixed-media and textile artists, wood artists and even a blacksmith. Some draw on traditional or historical styles, while others are experimental or abstract. Together, they bring an incredible range of materials, techniques and artistic perspectives to the Tour.
Many participating artists are members of respected provincial and national art organizations, including the Ontario Society of Artists, Royal Canadian Academy, Toronto Watercolour Society and Sculpture Society of Canada.
