The 34th Annual Uxbridge Studio tour is less than ONE WEEK away! I'm a jewellery artist and it's been a productive summer. As I contemplate the upcoming weekend, I'm struck by the impact the tour has had on my life.
First as a visitor:
Newley married, my husband and I visited the studios in the very first years of the tour. We lived in Toronto, but Uxbridge felt like the 'hills of home'. (We both grew up in the area). Eventually, we took our young sons on the tour. They got to meet the artists and enjoy their work. (Now, all grown up they still visit!)
Next as a guest artist:
Inspired by a love of art and a need to flex my own creative muscle, my raw skills sought a spot on the tour. The generous mentoring of established artists found me a place. This will be my 13th year as a guest artist -- and I've strived to hone my craft.
Throughout this experience I have met incredible artists and visitors, learned invaluable skills, made extraordinary friends...been inspired...bought beautifully made, local art and enjoyed every single moment.
Wherever YOU are on your creative journey, I invite you to one of the best studio tours I know. Ask questions. Get inspired. Enjoy. And support great local art.
