ABOUT THE ARTIST
Judy is a lifelong artist, educator, parent, volunteer and environmentalist.
She is fascinated by water, trees, wetlands, and their inhabitants. She enjoys portraiture and has depicted cityscapes, but her primary inspiration always returns to natural habitats.

Early explorations from her cottage, in a nearby wetland, teeming with life, is continued from her current studio at Chalk Lake. Many of her inspirations are from ‘The Cut’, an area beyond her studio window.
It is a fascinating and magical place which changes hourly and throughout the progression of the seasons
Starting from grade 4 through to the end of high school, she was exposed to a wide variety of disciplines by a wonderful art teacher, Sr. Barbara Canning. A two-year scholarship at OCA, further encouraged her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queens’ University.
After graduation, she moved to Uxbridge and became involved in the developmental years of the Uxbridge Celebration of the Arts, and the Uxbridge Studio Tour. She established her own studio where she continues to teach a variety of art lessons.
She has also taught art at Durham College and in the Durham Catholic District School Board. Judy has volunteered at The Latcham and Varley Gallerys.
Judy continues to embrace a variety of materials, although her primary medium is oil paints. It is the fun of exploration, capturing the spirit of an abstract feeling, that gives meaning to her work.
She welcomes you to join her at her studio!
