ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rashmi Baird's work explores the relationship between potato complexes and safe places to put them. With influences as diverse as Mork from Ork, Carl G. Jung and Grieg, new synergies are generated from both constructed and discovered dialogues.
Ever since she was a potato she has been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of the moment. What starts out as contemplation soon becomes finessed into a dialectic of power, leaving only a sense of what could have been and the inevitability of a new understanding.
As subtle phenomena become clarified through diligent, boundaried and repetitive practice, the viewer is left with an epitaph for the limits of their own imagination and the inaccuracies of our potato condition.
