Linda loves to travel the world, but coming home makes her appreciate the beauty of the rural landscape and her gardens which continue to inspire her art.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Linda is a painter inspired by her surroundings. From her backyard studio, in a garden loaded with summer flowers, located amidst rural farmlands, Linda creates her encaustic and watercolour batik paintings.
Although she loves to travel, coming home makes her appreciate the beauty of the rural landscape just that much more.
Beginning as a watercolour painter, Linda has also dabbled in oils and acrylic. It was when she discovered encaustic painting that she fell in love with the tactility, luminosity and versatility of wax.
Over time she’s also learned the art of watercolour batik painting, which combines watercolour painting with wax as a resist.
Linda has taken numerous classes and workshops over the years. As an avid life-long-learner, she loves exploring new techniques or ways of thinking about painting.
In her professional life Linda was a corporate leadership trainer. She has transferred that adult education knowledge and training experience to her popular encaustic and watercolour batik workshops.
Linda sells her work at local galleries, namely META4 and A Gift of Art. Between taking and teaching workshops, and selling her work at shops, art shows and studio tours like this one, Linda is kept quite busy in her “retirement.”
