Mary Philpott is a full time craft artist whose practice encompasses both sculptural ceramics and bespoke tile design. This year Mary can be found at Studio 10 with host artist Nancy Newman. Here's a little more about Mary Philpott and her work.
A graduate of the School of Crafts and Design, Sheridan College (Ceramics) the University of Guelph (art History, medieval studies and Archeology) McMaster university, her studies have informed her work with a historical aesthetic.
Mary has worked as an artist in residence at the harbourfront Studios, and at Air Vallauris, France. Her sculpture and tile work have been exhibited, collected and published internationally, and is in many private and public art collections. she lives and works in the Uxbridge countryside.
